Unfortunately I have just missed the 75th anniversary of the first flight of the prototype Avro Lancaster. Still I though it’s not too late to share some images of the aircraft. Most of these feature the Lancaster operated by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. This station operated Lancasters during the war, and was even home to 617 Squadron for a time.
